Independent Modeling is a resource site for independent and agency-represented models who wish to enhance the marketability of their modeling careers, as well as have an advantage over limited models; those limited models being agency-only models who do not think for themselves, do not invest in their career, and allow modeling agencies to manage them, and to tell them what to do. Other limited models include models who try to put together competent professional modeling portfolios for free, using TFP, and who try to compete against professional models with cheap career tools. The independent models who use Independent Modeling are smart, professional models who know enough that to have an advantage over other models, that they have to invest in their careers. Independent Modeling is NOT a modeling and talent agency, and we do not claim to be. We do not directly refer models into modeling jobs for financial compensation, and do not represent models. Monday, February 6, 2006 - Job Board Online

Our new model job board is now officially online. We will have a meeting tomorrow concerning the policies covering adjustments and will have more updates this week. Don't expect us to post everything we get, because the models are not liking some of the job posts that they are seeing floating around on the Internet and they are definitely at odds with half of the companies offering them (some of them are outright model scams and others are somewhat sleazy and questionable at best). Seems we have some weeding to do, and it might extend to TALON, too, which may see a 40% reduction on the planned database profiles simply because the models are opting for quality over quantity and we will only be posting ethical professionals on there (or yanking off profiles if we find proof that they are doing anything that they should not be doing or what they are doing will take too much of our time to check out). Independent Acting's audition board will be online this week, too.

There is only one post on there now, but check it out to get a feel for how it will work. It's a great job offer, too. There will be more shortly. Quality over quantity is the main rule here; although we can never guarantee a job offer from someone else is legitimate, we will do our best to screen them and only post the best ones. While most of the initial posts will be for promotional work (there's no, ugh, getting around it at the present time), we have some cool things in store that will make our model job board the best there is soon.
